Members of the Allegheny Highlands Bird Club are from Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, McKean, Potter, and Warren counties, Pennsylvania. This represents the Allegheny Plateau area of the state. The region has abundant bird life and plenty of bird watching areas. The club began in 2011 and has been active in surveys, bird banding, conservation projects, educational programs, and field trips enjoyed by bird lovers of all ages.
Favorite birding areas of the club include Potato Creek Trails, Sinnamahoning State Park, Kinzua Valley Trail, the Allegheny National Forest, Sizerville State Park, and many other local treasures.
Regular meetings, which begin with an educational or informative program, are held normally on the fourth Wednesday of the month from September through May. Most meetings are held at the 911 Center meeting room in Smethport, PA. Twice a month, they are held in different counties to accommodate all members-usually Emporium and Saint Mary's. Field trips are held throughout the year. Use the link below to see this year's schedule, or check our Facebook page for current updates.
